An Effective Strategy on the Acquisition of Idiomatic Language, Vocabulary and
Enhancement of Listening and Speaking Skills
Teaching
and learning idiomatic language, vocabulary, and the improvement of speaking
and listening skills has been a taugh task for Cape Verdean students. It has
been a hidius process, ever since English teachers have been teaching that
language, because instructors have not tried to use an effective way to tackle
idioms, vocabulary, listening and speaking skills in an effective way. This
study aims to suggest Hip-Hop, as an alternative instructutional strategy to
effectively resolve this matter.
The
resolution of this matter through the use of Hip-Hop can be a value added both
for teachers and students’ in Cape Verde. It is certainly of teachers and
students’ interests to learn more idioms, vocabulary and improve listening and
speaking skills. In addition to that, the use of this strategy will
revolutionize our educational syste. Also, it is a great importance to the
researcher to learn more about teaching and learning through Hip-Hop.
This study
aims to come up with a meriod of sources that can help teachers and students
understand the impact of Hip-Hop; also, it will shope both instructors,
students and decision takers idea about the positive side of Hip-Hop. A final
objective of this research is to Cape Verde system through new ideas about
teaching through this musical genre.
To fulfill those
objectives, this research will prove, through a substantial argument that
Hip-Hop is a musical genre that can assist teachers in an effective teaching of
vocabulary, idioms listening and speaking skills.
